1. Hi all,
" My wife and I made a last minute decision to visit Hanoi and contacted Tour Viet Nam . We chose to do a 6-day trip including Halong Bay , Sapa and Hanoi . As we didnt have any visas, Mr Tim of Tour Viet Nam arranged them for collection by us at Hanoi airport. This should be done earlier but as it was a last-minute rush I decided to let Halong New 7 Wonders Travel do it for us for a small fee. I think it was US$25.
I have no hesitation in recommending Tour Viet Nam Travel to anyone. Their staff and there were so many of them were very friendly and helpful. They were utterly reliable. We enjoyed our Halong Bay trip on the new Phoenix junk, and made new friends from different parts of the world on board. The kayaking and cave outings were fun.
The Sapa hillstribes visit was also enjoyable. But if you travel on the overnight train make sure the air conditioner is not too cold. We nearly froze to death and only discovered we could control it too late. So if it is too cold let the guard know! It was our first trip to Hanoi which is not as developed as Ho Chi Minh. And yes we hired a tour guide for a one-day tour of the city and visited the pottery village. Nice and easy is the way to go and try to make some Vietnamese friends.We were invited to re-assure potential clients so I have given Tour Viet Nam Travel permission for anyone who wants to contact us to do so.

2 . Hi Mr Tim ,
Thought I would touch base with you now we have been home for as couple of days and had time to catch our breath. Stephen and Jenna get home in a couple of hours so it will be good to hear of their adventures since we left them a few days ago. We have both really struggled with the cold weather since we got home but thankfully it hasn't been raining, but that is due to start tomorrow for the whole week!!
We did enjoy your beautiful country and found it very interesting. Looking back at our photos yesterday made us realize just how much we saw, did and learnt. All our guides were fantastic and able to give us so much information. Our trip to Ha Long Bay is something we will remember for such a long time although we did find the bus trip to and from a bit squeezy. The history and culture from the different places was also amazing. Our accommodation was great, our favourite being The Pilgrimage, we would thoroughly recommend it to anyone. We enjoyed the wide variety of foods offered to us and both Jenna and I eventually mastered chopsticks!!
Thank you so much for all the time and effort you put in to coordinating and organizing our itinerary. We had no problems whatsoever which further enhanced our whole “Viet Nam Experience”.

Dear Mike,
We have now returned to Australia and would like to feed back our comments and experiences:
1. Your preseverance to our changes was appreciated and we accomplished everything thank you. We knew that our time was short and it was always going to be a busy trip. Fortunately the weather was good, but there was no margin for bad weather or sickness. We a regular travellers and I have a wide personal experience through most countries in SE Asia through business travel. A novice traveller would have had difficulty in achieving our plan. If we had the time, we should have included a spare day in HCMC (to get over travel tiredness and be ready for the 4.00 am start to Danang, as well as see HCMC in daylight). Halong Bay was so beautiful and would have been better if we had stayed overnight. Other than this it was a very good plan for the places that interested us. Next time we will include the hill tribes and maybe central coast beaches. The jewel of the trip for both of us was Hoi An.
2. HCMC area. The guide spoke good English, the driver was careful and the car was clean. Empress Hotel was fine, although next time, if we made our final arrangements earlier we would choose the area between Dong Khoi and Ben Thanh. The Mekong boat cruise and lunch were very good. A long day, but a wonderful experience.
3. Danang/ Hoi An/Hue. The driver was on time for our 6.00 am departure. We were met by guide Mr Nguyen Dinh Phuc who was very very good - Good English, knew his subjects and quickly adapted to our interests - was very helpful with local knowledge of Hoi An and Danang. He even made a point of looking us up on our free day. Mr Phuc is a very good organiser and guide. We were met on arrival at 7.00 am, lunch was excellent and Pho Hoi Resort was very good - a perfect position for people like us who enjoy walking around. Duy Tan Hotel in Hue was excellent and Perfume River cruise OK. The car was clean and driver was on time for our airport transfer.
4. Ha Noi/Halong Bay. Again met at airport, local sightseeing very good, Guide spoke good English. Driver very good, clean car. all arrangements including an excellent lunch and Platinum II hotel was good (near to Ha Noi old quarter). Next day, the long drive to Halong Bay with a very good driver and very good guide Mr Le Dinh Chieu. Like Mr Phuc, Mr Chieu was easy to talk to and knew all the details of the visit. The boat trip to Halong Bay and back was very good and also a very good lunch. On our last day, the driver met us on time for the airport transfer
So, in summary, ....very well organised....all arrangements were good, no hitches....hotels were to a good standard... all guides spoke reasonable to good English, Mr Phuc and Mr Chieu were very good and we would specifically request their services if we return to Vietnam. The Ha Noi driver was the best and again, we would specifically request his services.....all cars were clean and trouble free.

We know that we would have not been able to go on the Junk cruise in Halong Bay if we hadn't booked our trip with you, as you took it on yourself to find us another junk and alter all our hotel accommodation when the cyclone cancelled the scheduled date. As this was one of our highlights in Vietnam it would have been disappointing to have missed that. We also appreciated the very personal touch you have and that every thing on our trip was as you had said. It would not have been the same with out you and all the time and effort that you put in to our holiday, even down to the personal phone call we received at our hotel in Ho Chi Minh City from your company to check that every thing was ok. We know that we would not have received this level of service from our travel agent in Australia and therefore will tell many people to use your company.
