Singaporean luxury resort developer Banyan Tree said Saturday it will build a large resort near the historical town of Hue at an estimated cost of US$900 million. Chan May-Lang Co EZ attracts 31 trillion VND
The Chan May-Lang Co Economic Zone (EZ) has, since its inception attracted 33 projects with a total registered capital of over 31 trillion VND (nearly 1.9 billion USD). According to the Zone Management Board’s report released on July 30, the investment capital includes 1.4 billion USD from 10 foreign-invested projects.
Phu Bai international airport to get facelift
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has approved a project to upgrade the Phu Bai International Airport in central Thua Thien-Hue province through 2030 to the tune of over 12.57 trillion VND (718 million USD). Once the project is completed, the airport will be able to receive A320, A321, Boeing 767, and Boeing 777-200LR planes. By 2020, the airport is expected to be able to accommodate 20 aircraft landings at peak hours, and 5 million passengers each year.
U.K. Starbay Holding Starts Site Clearance of US$1.8B Resort Proj in Phu Quoc
The U.K. Starbay Holding Ltd is clearing the site for its US$1.8 billion resort on Phu Quoc island off Vietnam’s southern province of Kien Giang. Pham Vu Hong, chairman of the Phu Quoc island development board, confirmed that Starbay will start the project as soon as it completes site clearance. Hong added that the board has given a nod to Tructsse Holdings of Switzerland for an expected US$2 billion realty project adjacent to Starbay’s resort.
