Phu Quoc island to be international trading hub
Phu Quoc Island of the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang is set to become an eco-tourism and international trading centre.
Switzerland casts bronze plaques of Ha Long Bay
In preparation for the Official New7Wonders of Nature inauguration ceremonies, Switzerland is casting two bronze plaques of Ha Long Bay. The plaques, 1.2m high and 1m wide, weighing around 100kg each will be sent to Vietnam before the holding of ceremonies in Hanoi on April 27 and in Ha Long City on May 1 with special art performances. They will be placed in Hanoi and at the Bai Chay tourism site in Ha Long.
Cooperation to establish Vietnam Tourism Representative Office in Japan
On 8th April 2012, a memorandum of understanding signing ceremony aiming to prepare for the establishment of a Vietnam Tourism Representative Office in Japan was held at Hue City. The memorandum was signed by the Preparation Committees for the Establishment of Vietnam Tourism Representative Office in Japan of Viet Nam and Japan.

Vietnam Airlines launches Can Tho-Taiwan flights for Tet
Vietnam Airlines will operate 11 direct flights between the Mekong delta City of Can Tho and Taiwan during the Lunar New Year in January, using Airbus 321 aircraft which can carry 100 to 130 passengers.
Vietnam, South Africa cooperate in tourism
The Prime Minister has approved an agreement on tourism cooperation between Vietnam and South Africa which was signed in Hanoi on Oct. 6, 2010. In his decision dated Dec. 30, 2010, the PM assigned the Foreign Ministry to complete necessary procedures following current regulations. The decision came into effect as of the date of signing.
