Water puppeteers participate in Asian arts festival
Vietnam’s Thang Long Water Puppetry Theatre participated in the 8th Asian Performing Arts Festival (APAF) in Tokyo from November 26-29. The festival was also attended by art troupes from Seoul (the Republic of Korea), Taipei (Taiwan, China), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Manila (the Philippines), New Deli (Indea) and Tokyo (Japan).
Dak Lak to celebrate elephants and water at first culture week
The Central Highlands province of Dak Lak will hold a traditional ceremony in honour of the indigenous ethnic communities’ watering places as part of its first ever cultural week. The riverside watering-place ceremony, which will be performed for the first time in many years, will be one of the highlights of Buon Me Thuot-Dak Lak Tourism and Culture Week from December 16-20. Organisers hope the event will encourage youth to preserve natural water resources.
Festival Hue 2010 to open with King Quang Trung ''inauguration''
The opening event of the Hue Festival 2010 is scheduled for the anniversary, December 22, of the crowning day of a historic Vietnamese hero - King Quang Trung - Nguyen Hue.
